The past, the present and the future of electric cars

The past, the present and the future of electric cars

We live in a period where we can say that electric cars are becoming the trend. In fact, these machines were not born today. Did you know that an electrical model of the first car was built in 1880? However, the machines were widely known in the 20th century. Was Thomas Parker, first engineer managed to build the first car the electronic suitable for production in 1884. This machine used rechargeable batteries.
In 1900, only 22% of car fuel work while 40% were electrical. Certainly fuel cars were functioning better and cheaper over and they were widely used until nowadays. An electric car costs twice more than ordinary cars. In 1930, fuel cars came fully invade the market, making the electronic machines were consumed. But with the advent of 1950, individuals were aware of in terms of pollution that cause these machines. This increased the interest in electric cars in the years 1980-1990.

But where is the difference between the electronic and car car fuel?

The primary difference is that electric cars use the electric motor as usual ones engine with fuel. In appearance, the electronic machines seem quite normal but are hidden inside several separate components. The main part of the electric car is the battery. The combination of electric motor battery to create what is called the brain of the machine.

Tesla or Edison?

There are two different type of engine that can be used in an electric car; AC and DC. Engines are built respectively by Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison. The main difference between the two engines is that they require different force to be put in place. A DC motor uses 92 to 192 volts AC and it requires batteries with a capacity of 240 to 300 volts. DC Motors are cheaper but also have many limitations. While AC motors are easier to implement in automobiles.

Although the electronic machines are not yet widespread in the street?

There are several reasons why the electronic machines today are not part of the road. Some issues remain unresolved, such as heavy batteries, requiring long time charging, the high price and the difficulty of charging. Today technology has advanced and is doing something to make them more efficient electric vehicles but we can say that the car manufacturing companies tend to keep us dependent on fuel. This is confirmed and the case of electric subway in Los Angeles which was taken out of play by General Motors in 1990 as an effort to attract more buyers. But we can say that the biggest problem concerns mainly the battery weight, size, capacity, charging, durability and price. Heavier batteries means heavier cars. This reduces the efficiency and performance, making them more expensive and short-lived.

Tesla Motors

Founded in 2003, the company based in Silicon Valley, is the company that is fully dedicated electric car. This company was named after the builder of AC battery, Nikola Tesla. Tesla used the batteries to power a sports car. This car was renamed the Tesla Roadster and was launched in 2008. It was highly publicized by changing the way the public saw electric cars.

But of course that a Tesla car is not cheap. However this has not stopped fans of electric cars to buy one. For now, Silicon Valley is the place where more drive electric cars in the world. 7 1000 machine using an electric motor. Tesla CEO, Elon Musk is known as the 'version' of Nikola Tesla modern. He has built a strategic plan to restore interest in the electric car turning them in an affordable and preferred by car buyers. But Musk wants to bring electricity not only in cars but also in our homes or businesses to manufacture a giant battery.
The future of electric cars

It will take years before consumers start using electric cars. Already reputation in terms of these machines has changed. Individuals seeking more efficient ways to move on the road and certainly less harmful to health. Tesla has done a good job in introducing electric vehicles to the public, bringing them to luxurious conditions and different functionalities. And several other companies are following the model of Tesla. Such are the Volkswagen E-Golf, Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Volt. This indicates that it will not be long until electric cars become common cars on our roads.
